Ampara

Ampara the city that is recovering from the thirty years war has so much to offer from beautiful beaches, animal sanctuaries and historically rich monasteries. Ampara is in the eastern province of Sri Lanka and the popular host town of international annual surfing competition.

Kumana National Park and Gal Oya National Park in Ampara, are just the place for wildlife lovers who can see wild boars, elephants and other animals and enjoy the spectacular scenery with beautiful lakes especially at Gal Oyo. The second highest peak in Sri Lanka mountain of Wadinagala which is 2400 feet tall is also in Amapara where wild elephants roam freely in the surrounding.
