Wasgamauwa Park

Wasgamuwa park is situated in the Matale and Polonnaruwa districts..It was opened to protect the displaced wild animals during the Mahaweli development project. It is widely known for its sloth bear population.  The park has several ancient sites and the wild life population is quite vast here. Elephants could be observed, and large herds could be sighted during November to May. Three wild life bungalows are available on prior booking at Wasgamuwa park. This park is a paradise to nature lovers.
