It is indeed great news to hear of Austrian Airlines decision to fly to Sri Lanka.
Austrian Airlines incorporates a third new destination into its route network, along with its new other additions of Mauritius & Miami.
From 27th October onwards, Austrian will begin offering a weekly service to Colombo, the Capital of Sri Lanka. The flight will fly out Tuesday, returning Wednesday. Austrian will use a B767 to provide the new Colombo service, a journey around 7450 kilometers which will take 9 hours and 10 minutes.
Andreas Otto, Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines said "Sri Lanka is another Indian Ocean destination ,complementing our existing services to the Maldives & Mauritius. We are increasingly focusing our efforts on long –haul tourist destinations which are particularly popular during winter". Also known as the "Spice Island" , Sri Lanka is mainly of interest to tourists wanting to enjoy the local culture, relax on beaches and get to know the country and its people as a part of an activity or adventure holiday.
