Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Authority Kishu Gomes says that the tourism industry is recovering faster than expected, despite the recent terrorist attack. Gomes made these remarks, during a press conference which was held in Colombo recently.
Speaking further Gomes noted that, Currently, Sri Lanka is thinking beyond just recovery and the country will be having some mega international events happening in Colombo from now to the three months.
“We are very confident that we will fully recover over the next several months, come, 2019 we will be on a more aggressive plan in order to hit 10 billion dollar revenue over the next 4 to 5 years’ time and go pass 5 million tourist over the same period. “We are pulling over the resources we have in order to make things happen for the country” Gomes added.
