NKAR Travels and Tours (PVT) Ltd which is considered a pioneering Destination Management Company in Sri Lanka with over 40 years of experience in the Tourism industry, conducted a training program for its local partners last week on handling foreign tourists under the regulations stipulated by Sri Lanka Tourism. NKAR is one of the first few companies to obtain the safe and secure certificate issued by SLTDA.
The program which was held under the guidance of Mr. Nilmin Nanayakkara – Managing Director of NKAR Travel House – and Dr. Damian Fernando – Chief Operating Officer of NKAR Travel House – was aimed at educating as well as discussing the new normal procedures with an array of important stakeholders including National Guides, Chauffeurs, and local suppliers. Over 100 participants were in attendance at the program, with some coming from areas as far as Tissamaharama and Polonnaruwa.
During the program, all participants were educated on the importance of adhering to the health guidelines set by the authorities as well as on the practical implementation of same. There were many queries regarding the finer points of the guidelines which were answered by Ms. Renuka Mendis (Operations Manager), Mr. Gagana Jayasundara (Head of Transport) and Mr. Roshan Fernando (Tour Leader Manager) of NKAR Travel House who conducted this training session.
