Ritigala is an ancient Buddhist monastery and mountain range in Sri Lanka in the Anuradhapura district. There are several peaks in the range and the highest peak in Ritigala. There are many monastic ruins of stones, terrace ways, circular terraces, a stone bridge and remains of a giant stone blanked pond built across a water stream. It is not safe to visit this area during latter part of the day as it is frequented by wild elephants. Its an ideal touring place for those interested in history and cultural values.
